Yeah, that was the picture that gave me the idea to use the drawings.

And I thought the classic rock poll images would set the standard

I've still never seen Freaks.

I didn't even hear of it til years after I heard the song. It was almost disappointing to learn there was some context for Gabba Gabba beyond just Ramones weirdness.

His little laugh at the end there reminds me of Michael Showalter's character in WHAS.

For a long time, this was my favourite. Tom Carson's Stranded essay is great--think he singles out "Oh Oh I Love Her So."

I put "Wart Hog" at #5 in the vain hope that that would bump it up enough to place :( I wonder how many votes it got.

Never a fan of "Cretin Hop." It signals kind of a change for me--doesn't have the power of the first album or the beauty of the second; it's just novelty. I'm the rare person who, "Sheena" aside, likes Rocket to Russia the least of the first four.

"Bonzo," on the other hand, is brilliant. I've posted the School of Rock clip two or three times elsewhere...

clemenza, Friday, 29 August 2014 00:10 (nine years ago) link

Everything about "Bonzo" makes me happy.

something of an astrological coup (tipsy mothra), Friday, 29 August 2014 00:12 (nine years ago) link

Coming from Joey, the way he uses the word "somehow" is perfect.

clemenza, Friday, 29 August 2014 00:13 (nine years ago) link

"Wart Hog" was my #7 vote. Thought it might slip in at the bottom. Not confident about its chances anymore.

Non-Stop Erotic Calculus (bmus), Friday, 29 August 2014 00:14 (nine years ago) link

Ah, there's something from Animal Boy - finally! Was expecting this one, of course, but still great. God, I was so shocked when I heard the bells in this, but it struck me immediately and was my first favorite song off of my first Ramones album. Joey sounds so sad.

how's life, Friday, 29 August 2014 00:16 (nine years ago) link

The live version of Bonzo is epic. My favorite Joey vocal.

kornrulez6969, Friday, 29 August 2014 00:50 (nine years ago) link
