Never realized until now how many of their post-Waters releases feature a horizon line on the cover.

Haha Marcos <3

C'mon, it looks like the cover of a children's bible. Lill babby Jesus rowing o'er the clouds.

a creaky old punt - maybe it's a reference to roger waters

Oh my god that Pink Floyd cover.

This Odawas cover... I feel like I've seen more or less this same thing fifty times.

Paglaira cover I totally like, though!

It gets better (Floyd cover):

Responding via email, Eldin described the inspiration behind his design: “Thinking about life and nature and what is beyond the world of charming factors we have never seen is enough to create millions of different amazing feelings.”

“First, I draw a sketch for what is in my mind, then I start to simulate the sketch and the idea with real images, and that’s called photo manipulation.”

I just heard Aubrey Powell Pinks long time "style director" describe choosing that cover like he'd found an uncovered Da Vinci

i suppose there are a few similarities between it and the cover of atom heart mother - lack of text, a dreamy pastoral sort of scene, horizon bisecting the image... i reckon if you superimposed the two and shifted AHM slightly to the right, it would look just like the guy in the boat was sticking his paddle up the cow's bumhole - surely a great metaphor for the new record?

The Floyd one is off the scale gross.

Gazelle Twin - Unflesh

The Francis Bacon homage works rather well with about half of the tracks.

Dream Theater cover makes the Pink Floyd look like an instant classic

also, did Tobacco do the Gazelle Twin cover? if not that's a pretty blatant take on his thang, innit?

Also sick of that New Dorp, New York song already. Sounds like shitty David Essex meets shitty Suicide in a shitty remix by some shithead.

i was just about to comment that my university's social spaces have the same chairs. this album speaks to us all on many levels

why are elizabeth shepherd's antlers on sideways? that bugs me

the Carnacki cover is great, it's a drawing by the irr.app.ext guy, don't often see him do color

Also, keep reading the Garth Brooks things as . . .

which sounds like a black metal band.

There's been some great album covers this year. Here's a compilation of some of my favorites, several of these have been mentioned already. If you don't identify a cover and want some more info just ask.
