Happy to see Together so high. It was my number three and for a while I considered putting it right at the top. Such a beautiful song.

I thought Groovallegiance would easily be in the top 10. Shocked it only got four votes. It was my number two.
Wizard of Finance is another favourite of mine. Very happy to see it place so high.

my 1, 2 & 4 are already goodies gone: half my mere 20 song ballot has already placed outside the top 40! Most of the rest of my ballot is kind of obvious stuff, so I don't have a lot left to root for as underdogs --- had no idea that what's a funkadelic or unfunky ufo or placebo syndrome could possibly count as underdogs though! It's going to continue to be educational.

Electric Spanking is so good- such a detailed and nuanced production on that one.
― Dokken played here for a Ribfest and people were total assholes (Sparkle Motion), Monday, 8 December 2014 20:46 (nine years ago) link
It's murky - kinda sounds like it was recorded inside an oil drum, but I like that about it. The whole vibe of that track is druggy, ominous, like a There's A Riot Goin' On for the Reagan era. Very apropos given Sly's involvement with P-Funk and with George's pharmaceutical dalliances at the time.

All of the stacking, counterpointy kind of things going on are great. I started listening to this record again just before the poll and it hasn't left the deck since.
