Yeah the new Model 500 seems to be a sleeper but man it's got earworms for days. Love the polished digital sound on this.

xxpost On what I've heard so far Shanti Celeste feels like a serious name to watch out for, like, John Talabot "Matilda's Dream" era potential.

the model 500 album is amazing, and i'm not just sayin that b/c it's juan atkins, i sort of unintentionally overcorrect my expectations of the classic dude comebacks and it takes me a while to work up the interest to give them a listen, glad i did in this case

new shed(s) on the hardwax site! the actual shed 12" sounds really cool (and is gone from the site now??). the two V/As sound good too, one garage-y with vox (Stable Mates / PCK) one dubbier (Craft / Seelow).

This is a quick, quarterly reminder that all available tracks mentioned on this thread (and a few album selections) are being posted as updated to a thread-specific Spotify playlist that I'm maintaining. I just did a quick sweep prior to posting this message and updated as of today with everything that's been added on Spotify since it was first mentioned.
That playlist is currently a bit more than three hours of music and is clickable below. Give it a spin and subscribe if you want to listen along through the year.

omg, I got to the Michael Douglas reference before I checked the date on that Berghain: The Musical link. Part of me is a bit disappointed, I would have totally made the trip to see that trainwreck.

If anything gives it away, it's that Patrick Stewart is far too slender to play Johannes The Bear..

That case is totally weird, I'm guessing there's more to it than what's reported there. It seems likely that he lifted the tracks and made some minor edits and adjustments, but then why did Tresor produce stickers first and then decide to withdraw the release afterwards? And where to you draw the line with techno and originality anyway? *brain hurts*
― MikoMcha, Thursday, 23 April 2015 11:38 (nine years ago) link
You draw the line where a track is actually by someone else
― saer, Thursday, 23 April 2015 12:22 (nine years ago) link
Lol, I read that article because I first understood "Tresor recalls Confucio's Golden Rule..." to mean "Tresor remembers some sort of Confucianist type philosophical axiom" and wondered what the hell they were talking about.
