One would think all the "Running Up That Hill" fans on ILX would be all over "Wolf" from the Jennie Abrahamson album. On the whole its a great EP with filler but what isn't.

New Priest track ...sounds rather big for them. I think the vocals are kinda weak but otherwise it's pretty good:

This is a quick, quarterly reminder that all available tracks mentioned on this thread (and a few album selections) are being posted as updated to a thread-specific Spotify playlist that I'm maintaining. I just did a quick sweep prior to posting this message and updated as of today with everything that's been added on Spotify since it was first mentioned.

That playlist is currently a bit more than three hours of music and is clickable below. Give it a spin and subscribe if you want to listen along through the year.

Aliaa from Kaleida's Think ep. They've got the openning slot for Róisín Murphy's UK tour in May.

If you get a chance to see Karin Park, take it. I expected not-too-exciting singing+sequencers, but I wanted to see a show while I was here in Stockholm and there she was. But her drummer is her brother, and he comes out in a Slayer shirt and begins hitting things very hard, and she is at least 9 feet tall and has a keytar, and the whole thing was extremely entertaining. Good crowd response from whatever she was saying in Swedish, too.

I'd really love to hear the rest of this Selected Works album, but it's not available on Spotify US (though the track itself is) or in any US mp3 store (and no one on slsk has it). "Miradors" is a beautiful song, though.

The new Ariane Moffatt album is really lovely. Mostly more downbeat than the single above would suggest.

Laurel - Juglans (Feat. Yung Gud)

https://soundcloud.com/classiclaurel/juglans-feat-yung-gud

one of the best shambhala tracks of the year, hazy sensual female vocals over futuristic oriental mesmerizing zig-zag beats. this track is so addictive due to it's hypnotic nature.

not on spotify at the mo

djmartian, Tuesday, 7 April 2015 21:10 (nine years ago) link

Didn't expect it to be built around such a trappy beat, but I can get over that.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 7 April 2015 21:30 (nine years ago) link

Iris's first single is posted upthread, I think. Her new one "Follow Me" is out now and, when the beat kicks in, it's reminiscent of the outro to "Thriller" with that plucky insistent guitar line that I'm predisposed to loving. A+

obscure gem found on soundcloud

Madi Larson x λjgor ~ Guidance
https://soundcloud.com/madi-larson/madi-larson-x-jgor-guidance

Madi Larson is an 18 year old from Arizona, delicate floaty chilled vocals over electronic ambient pop hypnotic grooves.

I love that winding bass.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 8 April 2015 21:34 (nine years ago) link

electronic glitch-pop from a new artist, Tidelines - nice long swoosh synths on this tracks, like i'm transported to ibiza on a hot summer's night in a chill out zone. In the Uk the weather has warmed up and this track feels so right. i can see this track doing well on ILM with FKA Twigs / Kelela fans

found via the prolific new music blog, pigeons and planes

PREMIERE: TIDELINES – “SAY MY NAME”
http://pigeonsandplanes.com/2015/04/premiere-tidelines-say-my-name/

direct soundcloud link:
https://soundcloud.com/xvi-records/tidelines-say-my-name-master

"From the wilds of Southeast London, Tidelines have arrived with their debut single. They are a duo practiced in the art of spooky, skittering electronica, wrapping the listener up in a sound cocoon so silky you’re hardly aware it’s there. But the kick does come, and in “Say My Name” it bursts through in twinkling waves, the beat split open with a synth so sudden and full it forces you to listen back to the entire song with that moment in mind."

New Vanbot! "Seven"

https://soundcloud.com/vanbot/single-seven

She sounds way less like Robyn now than she did when she first showed up in 2011, to her credit. First "Trooper" and now "Seven" makes me think her new album is gonna be a stunner.

Mai Kino's Burn, in the "similar" playlist with Iris, should be of interest to Lorde fans.

we discussed Haerts briefly on the other thread. Me and my o/h both got it for each other at Christmas, ha - really like it in a different way than I expected. Every track reminds me of about 20 other songs though, in both production and tune
