woah, this is good! sometimes feels a little bit empty, mix-wise - like the vocals are too loud for it just being them and the beat - but i think it works. ok sure, it's a self-conscious return to form, delivering as many rhythmic and vocal surprises as you're hoping to find in a missy record... but those are still good things, and just as enjoyable to the ears as they were a decade ago. it's a first hearing of course, but i'm inclined to say it's her best single since the under construction run?

ok that might be a bit much. i think i like "lose control," "pass that dutch" and "i'm really hot" more when i'm hearing them than when i'm thinking about them.

It's solid and she's just so great to listen to as a performer. Ideas hitting you from every direction. Her voice seems deeper than it used to be? Suits her

i'm 100% on board. no one makes hip-hop 'fun' like Missy.

ahhh yes more than anything I am happy that people are paying attention! Feel like this could have been even bigger if it had happened a little closer to the Superbowl bit she did.

"worst album" is meaningless when four out of your discography's six are straight-up classics and none of them are outright bad, though the cookbook is better than this is not a test by a long way and in general pretty underrated ("bad man"!!!!!)

TISNAT! is my favorite after the debut. I love the spareness: each song with a single ear-catching beat, some of Missy's best smut and party fodder.

i was reluctant to listen to this cause she sounded awful to me on that janet feature but this is, perfectly great? can't tell if it will become a smash or if the hook will dig in as deep as the classics but it sounds like good missy elliott music. and yeah this beat is better than any timbo beat in how many years?

This has been sneaking up on my brain a lot lately. Pharrell's verse continues to not grow on me though. How's it doing out there in the world?

i like the single though i continue to loathe pharrell. its the kind of thing i almost expect someone to tell me was produced by a non hip hop producer. or some non-current, non-american, producer. kind of a hark back to under construction. i dont think shes exactly an albums artist, but id rank her albums thus - Miss E... So Addictive, Supa Dupa Fly, Da Real World. not sure about the last three, but the cookbook is prob the worst (though even that has lose control so...).

I haven't heard radio since my vehicle's been out of commision but this is the song I've seen the best reaction to in clubs in the past couple months.
