HELL yeah. Coincidentally, I've just ordered the new Byron The Aquarius six-track, Gone Today Here Tomorrow. (Sold out on Juno, available from Honest Jons.)

The new Omar S album is about £40 on vinyl. There's four records and FXHE 12s are usually about £10 each but you'd think they could do some kind of bulk discount. If I remember rightly the Leven Vincent album was £28 or so

Levon Vincent, duh

paolo, Wednesday, 11 May 2016 12:41 (eight years ago) link

It's $36USD on the fxhe website

so, on a "future funk" kick, which is a vaporwave-spawned genre of house music, essentially taking filter disco and disco edits in general, and transplanting their Moroder-inspired 70s nostalgia, to 80s VHS and J-pop nostalgia. It's not super groundbreaking or anything, but since most of the tracks are in the 2-3 minute range, it's really easy to listen to a ton of it and not realize where the time went.

Both sides of the new Avalan Emeron 12" are very good. Heady and trippy.

I am really feeling the new Dorisburg album, it is very John Talbot but darker.

New Virginia album coming out on Ostgut Ton, first single is very much in the mold of Steffi's "Yours"

Michael F Gill, Sunday, 29 May 2016 16:15 (eight years ago) link

Didn't think a deep housey cover of Squeeze's "Take Me I'm Yours" would work out so well.

omg both those Virginia tracks are so good, I hear the "Yours" comparison but these feel even more euphoric and ravey, the album has suddenly shot to to the top of my listening pile.

I really don't get the hype around Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, it's nice to see some local lads doing well but I've yet to hear anything that really excites me there.
