The Who - Live at Leeds
Cecil Taylor - Conquistador! (recorded 50 years ago today)

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Thursday, 6 October 2016 22:44 (seven years ago) link

Tarfumes what is yr opinion on the definitive Live At Leeds version?

sleeve, Thursday, 6 October 2016 22:47 (seven years ago) link

That'd be the "deluxe edition" hi-res download currently up on hdtracks.com. It's free of later vocal overdubs (Entwistle in '94, Daltrey in '01), restores many of the edits, and has the best mastering.

That said, the bootleg Live at Leeds Complete is a close second, being completely unedited ("Magic Bus" is almost two minutes longer). But the drums are a tad too low in the mix on the boot for my taste.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Friday, 7 October 2016 00:06 (seven years ago) link

I knew you would bring the knowledge there, thanks!
