Dang, seeing three of my favs—Romance is Boring, Brand New Eyes and especially Home—place so low is kinda crushing. Feel like if this poll were done five or 10 years from now Hotelier would be a slam dunk top 10.

Have a feeling Joyce Manor may have been a casualty of vote splitting
man I hope not, they're one of the best rock bands on the planet at the moment imo
Dear You's slow critical rehabilitation has been amusing

Wow I wasn't able to check the thread since yesterday, a lot of interesting results!
gr8080 otm re: Promise Ring & Dashboard Confessional
Also I mentioned this in either the noms or campaigning threads and it probably got buried, but for all you new Fireside converts this is their most emo song imo:

that rainer maria record has some of my favorite lyrics ever on it
also dear you was a very crucial record for me in college even though i prefer the sprawl bivouac

The amazing thing about Brand New Eyes is it's somehow not even Paramore's best album.
It's also one of the only Rob Cavallo-produced album I can remotely stomach. His tactless, over-compressed, over-loud modern RAWK sound is the embodiment of everything shitty about commercial rock in the '00s, but somehow this album makes it work because Williams takes it almost like a kind of challenge, seeing if she can out bombast it

(xpost) Yeah I didn't vote for any Jawbreaker but 24 Hour Revenge Therapy was always my favourite - one of those cases of a record really striking the right balance between the sounds of the albums either side of it. I guess it will place pretty high up?

its not on this album, but its fun to sing "Kiss the Bottle" as "Kiss the Butthole"

Hi, another dutch northerner and Elite fan calling in :) Haven't listened to it in 10+ years but will put it on tonight. It's sort of an anomaly (and definitely the peak) in their oeuvre.

fun emo fact: I went on a date in Ottawa with a girl who freaked out that I knew who the Hotelier were, we bonded over shared emo loves, had what seemed to be a v nice time, and then I never saw her again until a few months later when she was out walking with some dude she was definitely dating. the end― a serious and fascinating fartist (Simon H.), Wednesday, March 8, 2017 8:46 AM (one hour ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

:( so emo
**Quick VG emo listening update***Saves The Day - good but i dont think i like the vocalsThe Promise Ring - omg omg. I am so in love with this sound + vox. Weirdly they sound a bit like mid-late 90's Australian grunge & therefore I'm in heaven.

First DCFC I heard was the Photo Album, and it might be my least favorite of their pre-Plans records. And yet, because of the time in my life when I discovered it...
