Hearing about all these 'special access' ticket/card scams this guy was running, it reminds me of Adam Scott on Eastbound bragging about his Platinum Plus card: "Platinum gets you front row at the Jonas Brothers concert; this gets all three of them to suck your dick backstage!"

It was the WORST day of their lives but you won't BELIEVE what happened next!
"Then something amazing happened: venues, bands, and people started contacting us and said they’d do anything to make this festival a reality and how they wanted to help. The support from the musical community has been overwhelming and we couldn’t be more humbled or inspired by this experience. People were rooting for us after the worst day we’ve ever had as a company. After speaking with our potential partners, we have decided to add more seasoned event experts to the 2018 Fyre Festival, which will take place at a United States beach venue."

that's the thing, legit cards like the higher american express tiers do offer concierge services but they generally cost more than a couple hundred bucks a year -- and if they don't, then they require that you charge above a certain amount to the card per year. this guy's brand is that he'll give you all this shit for a price that sounds appealing and might work if they had tons of members, but there's no way he's not just burning through cash trying to provide services at this small scale
both the magnises scam and the fyre fest scam seem too cheap! I don't think they actually sold ten thousand tickets to this thing, and if you go with $50 million as a ballpark figure for getting it done in that time period -- the number thrown out by the coordinator who quit and wrote an article -- the numbers just don't line up. Festivals with the ridiculous concierge-level, on-site luxury lodging are charging nearly as much for their top VIP tiers and they're in areas with transportation infrastructure and companies that can drive up and service the toilets.

You can read excerpts on Amazon. For example, a bunch of his more politically themed works have been anthologized in Pounded By Politics: Nine Tales of Civic Butthole Diplomacy. Just click on the cover to sample the prose.

which they do because they think that might result in some magic windfall of money at some point
that's the fallacy of imitation -- you think you're going to be rich and successful by imitating the juice cleanse and expensive skincare routine, but you should be doing what successful influencers did before they were big: illuminati sex magic and spirit cooking

To pull off the 300 million impressions, McFarland and Ja Rule partnered with a P.R. agency, a creative agency, and Elliot Tebele, a once-random nobody who has created a social-media empire by siphoning other people’s jokes into the Instagram account @FuckJerry.
