Appx what % of ticketholders end up staying somewhere besides Kutschers and Raleigh? Last year someone broke into my friends car and slept in it!

Whiney G. Weingarten, Wednesday, 27 May 2009 14:38 (fifteen years ago) link

Not sure to be honest; i think the number of rooms has changed a bit this year.
a majority of ticket holders can get a room though.

Jamie_ATP, Wednesday, 27 May 2009 15:12 (fifteen years ago) link

more or less?

there was a lot of rooms they didn't even use last year. Mainly because they looked like they were in three inches of water at one point.

staying on kutchers in the best way to go. if anyone is reading this is on the fence about going, go buy that 6-person room NOW and fill it with your friends later

Hah! I doubt I'll be able to find two other Texas people to help fill my 3 person room at the Raleigh... much less twice that size at Kutshers, nice as it may be.

Sufjan Stevens, Shellac, Circulatory System, Grouper picked by us.
Crystal Castles, Super Furry Animals, Boris, The Low Lows, Oneida presents The Ocropolis picked by The Flaming Lips.

The Oneida thing sounds like it'll be amazing. info they gave us: "Oneida will transport the impetus, spirit and community of their multidisciplinary studio/performance space, The Ocropolis, to ATP for a full day of improvisation, collaboration, and recording, combined with the astounding Mighty Robot Visuals light crew. "

Sufjan Stevens

Q: Are We Not ATP? A: We Are Pitchfork!

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Friday, 10 July 2009 13:33 (fourteen years ago) link

Just kidding. I don't much care for Sufjan, though.

Really looking forward to Boris, Oneida, Grouper among others. Circulatory System could be good as well. Shellac of course is a hit but I'd rather a new face on an ATP lineup -- will def. be at their show, though.

<3 that Flaming Lips are Oneida fans

can't wait to see how the oneida thing works out :-)

Jamie_ATP, Friday, 10 July 2009 14:17 (fourteen years ago) link

Likewise. Very psyched. New 3x album is one of my favorites of 2009.

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Friday, 10 July 2009 14:23 (fourteen years ago) link

Do you know if they're gonna take over the dining room or something?

#lottagoodnook (Whiney G. Weingarten), Friday, 10 July 2009 14:25 (fourteen years ago) link

i fucking LOVE the new album. seeing them in a 100 capacity pub in brighton next month, very exciting.
i'm not sure to be honest, but from the way they described it i'm sure they've got something pretty good planned

Jamie_ATP, Friday, 10 July 2009 15:09 (fourteen years ago) link

oh shit sufjan stevens, boris and oneida have just sealed the deal. i'm going. jamie: if i don't need hotel accomodations, should i still be worried about tickets selling out and buy mine soon?

sorry dude i dont have the figures available, but those were big announcements today so i wouldnt wait too long

Just saw this update on the ATP site:

BORIS TO PERFORM FEEDBACKER AT ATP NEW YORK

Thursday July 16, 2009

We're very happy to announce that Boris will perform their fantastic 2003 album Feedbacker in its entirety for their special set curated by The Flaming Lips at ATP New York 2009.

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Friday, 31 July 2009 13:57 (fourteen years ago) link

On Friday 11th, David Cross has picked Eugene Mirman, Jon Benjamin & Jon Glaser - 'The Fuggedabuddies' and Derrick Brown and the Navy Gravy for the comedy stage.

On Sunday 13th, The Flaming Lips have picked Black Moth Super Rainbow, Birds Of Avalon, Menomena and Hopewell. We are also incredibly excited to confirm that for their set performing the songs of Husker Du, No Age will be joined by none other than Bob Mould.

We are also happy to announce that Ian Svenonius will bring his Soft Focus show to Kutshers for live interview sessions with Suicide, Melvins and more TBC!

Jamie_ATP, Friday, 7 August 2009 14:04 (fourteen years ago) link

Underwhelming lineup on the Flaming Lips day. Would've thought they would pull in a couple bigger names than Black Moth Super Rainbow on their final lineup announcements. No worries, though, should be great fun anyway.

Co-sign Benjamin love. Hoping the comedy doesn't conflict too bad with my desire to see Jesus Lizard and Suicide. Last years comedy stage was a traet.

Nope some tickets left.

The only accommodation we have is for the weekend and the rooms hold 4 people.
There are nearby hotels/motels though, or you could ask about spare room places on the last.fm event page / flaming lips forum / our facebook page (www.facebook.com/atpfestival)
