so now that "My Love"'s cycle is over and it's officially gone down as The-Dream's first completely unsuccessful solo single, are y'all ready to admit it was kind of a dud or not

(not counting "Booty," just the first 4 that got videos and the whole big push)

commercially a dud, but still a dope song. there's so many great things about it - my favorite now is after the middle eight when the beat drops back in like a fucking bomb, im like \m/ every time

i don't mind it on the album but it never struck me as a potential hit, w/ or w/o mariah, just kinda glad to be vindicated on that. singles jukebox cru kinda pissed me off giving it a higher score than "rockin'".

yeah back when this dropped i was more into "my love" but "rockin that shit" is my shit now, 9 for that and my love's an 8

i mean the guy's album is coming out next week - i'm pretty sure def jam had higher hopes than for it to have peaked at #82 by last week

yeah im sure def jam will be psyched for fabolous' lead single to peak in jan 2010

yeah Def Jam is throwing out albums with zero promotion all over the place this summer (Ace Hood, Willy Northpole, Unladylike), but Fab is practically a big deal compared to those releases, even if just on a relative scale. still, his last album had a huge single and just barely went gold, so stakes aren't high. I'm just saying, I wouldn't be surprised at all of "Throw It" is top 10 in a few weeks.

i mean you might be right but even if it sneaks into the top 10 of hip hop/r&b a week or two after his album drops would that still not be considered a flop? a collabo w/ the dream after what the two singles from his last album did?
