Try as I might, I can't see that three-founders-leave thing as anything other than a worrying development.
maybe the 3 of them agreed at the takeover they would only stay on for a few years.

none of my top tracks/artists are showing up, my play count is intact though. checking random ilxors and overall it seems to be a sitewide issue.

So. The crappy Last.fm client has started scrobbling all my iPhone scrobbles twice. There are complaints about this all over the site, but nothing even approaching an acknowledgement.
Given that the only thing I ever really use it for is being anal about my listening habits -- and iTunes covers that reasonably well -- what, exactly, am I wasting my time for? Ach, time to throw off the chains, I think.

HOLY SHIT that feels liberating. Bye, thread!

Tell you what, though. It's weird listening to music without wondering whether it's being scrobbled properly/duplicated/mistagged/etc. After, what, two and a half years of obsessive Last.fm-ing, it's a bit like listening to music in the nude.

Can someone explain why New Order is always at the top of the ILX list?
― Mordy, Monday, 29 June 2009 22:23 (fifteen years ago) link
Because, despite those last two albums, they absolutely fucking rule?
― a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Monday, 29 June 2009 22:24 (fifteen years ago) link
ilx is indie + old.
― the shock will be coupled with the need to dance (jim), Monday, 29 June 2009 22:27 (fifteen years ago) link
In all seriousness, that's exactly it: if there's one band to which a sizeable core of ILX0rs is going to return again and again, it doesn't surprise me at all that New Order are it.
― a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Monday, 29 June 2009 22:30 (fifteen years ago) link
but the ilx indie have to pretend they dance rather than rockxp
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 29 June 2009 22:31 (fifteen years ago) link
otherwise they be "corny"
weekly charts are not immensely informative; 80 play counts for one artist = 8 out of 679 people listened to the same album last week
― winston, Monday, 29 June 2009 22:32 (fifteen years ago) link
by =, i mean "roughly equivalent to"
Yeh, exactly: it's a tiny sample and the results are pretty much meaningless.
― a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Monday, 29 June 2009 22:52 (fifteen years ago) link
80 play counts for an artist means 80 individuals listened to at least 1 track by that artist
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 29 June 2009 22:54 (fifteen years ago) link
Oh, does it? <Thinks> Fuck it, still not exactly earth-shattering.

xp ah i see
― winston, Monday, 29 June 2009 23:00 (fifteen years ago) link
and album plays means each individual played 1 track from that album
grimly get a new account

revitalised my usage this year, and desperately trying to rectify the statistical anomoly that indicates I have listened to Annie "Heartbeat" 118 times since December 2004. Especially sinced I hadn't logged back in for at least 3 years.
so much better with spotify scrobbling
