"Livin' La Vida Loca" is probably the most horrific of the bunch here. Rosie O'Donnell-core.

The Pandora radio station they piped into my last retail job had a habit of playing “More More More” 5 times a shift so I could definitely go without hearing that loop ever again.

that loop is barely present in "more more more" tho -- looping those 2 bars is what made the sample so brilliant!
(i love "more more more" but i have never been exposed to it that often)

Oops, add one more vote for "Give It To You."

I had completely forgotten until earlier in this thread that "Give It To You" was Jam & Lewis.

"give it to you" is amazing and they def self-ripped it off for "someone to call my lover"

I remember being puzzled by that whole episode. Jordan Knight re-emerges after the guts of a decade in the wilderness with this really catchy little pop song, and then . . . nothing. He just disappeared as suddenly as he'd arrived.

I mean, what more is there to say after a "Give It To You"?

What is it about 'All Star' that seems to divorce it from its point of origin? I can never remember when it was released, and I'm always surprised when I see it lumped in with other songs from the same era. Like it doesn't seem right for some reason. It could've been released in '99, 1962, last year, four hundred years ago. All of those options seem like they could be correct. I know there was a time in my life before 'All Star' existed but my sense of how long that span was is pretty nebulous. Perhaps it was always there, never drawing attention to itself but lingering and waiting for the proper moment to appear in all its finery. I've always known the words. I was born knowing the words, they were the first to escape my lips after drawing my first lungful of air. Always have I known that shooting stars, and ONLY shooting stars, can break the moh-ooo-old.
