Anyway I put FRIGHTENED RABBIT at 2, youse should all check that out, I'm not expecting a great deal of appreciation for it but that was pretty much my life in that period, I didn't get much Sussex sea air I suppose

almost suggested a demerit system where you could take 20, 40, 60, 80 or 100 points away from a track or album of your choice, perhaps entitled the James Murphy Bonus Prize. unfortunately thought better of it

now let's play big lunch take little lunch (sic), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 22:45 (four years ago) link

753 points, 18 votes, 1 first place, 3 anti-votes, 2 worst place

^^^is this the future we wish for our descendents

imago, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 22:50 (four years ago) link

(will check out frightened rabbit!)

imago, Tuesday, 8 October 2019 22:52 (four years ago) link

I DID IT. Actually managed a weighted ballot for both albums and tracks. Only a small amount of handwringing over the fact that I am, at the end of the day, indie schmindie (although aside from Spoon in the top ten, I think I fall outside the most predictable quadrant of that cliche.)

sctttnnnt (pgwp), Tuesday, 8 October 2019 23:07 (four years ago) link

Frightened Rabbit also very high on my ballot.

I didn't squeeze Hood in (as it were) but very glad lots of other people are voting for it.

I'm voting for the wrong Hood album, sorry

imago, Wednesday, 9 October 2019 13:28 (four years ago) link

'Outside Closer'? It's great, all Hood is greater than great, but I have to vote for 'Cold House'.

Le Bateau Ivre, Wednesday, 9 October 2019 13:29 (four years ago) link

I prefer Cold House myself.

pomenitul, Wednesday, 9 October 2019 13:49 (four years ago) link

oof, just noticed Rilo Kiley's Under the Blacklight isn't on the Albums list. well, on the bright side that's one less record I have to try and squeeze in.

ditto Kanye's Graduation. getting easier and easier.

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Wednesday, 9 October 2019 17:16 (four years ago) link

I voted, thanks for running this shit LJ. Depending on if my file saved or not I might ask for a resend of my ballot come reveal time.

Voted after much agonising

paolo, Thursday, 10 October 2019 08:26 (four years ago) link

Quick question: Studio is on the album list as "Studio - West Coast / Yearbook 1 -- these are more or less the same album".

Do we need to past the whole thing for the vote to count or just up to the titles?

groovypanda, Thursday, 10 October 2019 10:25 (four years ago) link

looool sorry about that

i'll scan the results for all iterations of the album

imago, Thursday, 10 October 2019 10:28 (four years ago) link

Voted

Tracks were tough

groovypanda, Thursday, 10 October 2019 14:01 (four years ago) link

i voted, unweighted though, it was time-consuming enough just to whittle down two lists to 50.

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Thursday, 10 October 2019 14:06 (four years ago) link

finishing up my albums list, extension for songs pls

Will ballots with write in votes be rejected outright?

blows with the wind donors (crüt), Thursday, 10 October 2019 14:19 (four years ago) link

forgot to nominate “sippin on some syrup”

blows with the wind donors (crüt), Thursday, 10 October 2019 14:20 (four years ago) link

leaving this bookmarked so I send some form of ballot tomorrow

sleeve, Thursday, 10 October 2019 14:21 (four years ago) link

ballots with write-ins not rejected iirc but the write-its can't place (again iirc, not that they're likely to anyway)

imago, Thursday, 10 October 2019 14:23 (four years ago) link

👍🏻

blows with the wind donors (crüt), Thursday, 10 October 2019 14:33 (four years ago) link

i am trying to employ a one-song-per-artist policy but let it be hereby noted that i am TORN between Piece Of Me and Get Naked, and this might come down to a coinflip

imago, Thursday, 10 October 2019 16:49 (four years ago) link

these are both ashlee simpson songs?

flopsy bird (voodoo chili), Thursday, 10 October 2019 18:00 (four years ago) link

get naked is obviously better, also I am voting for it so more chance of making it.

mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Thursday, 10 October 2019 18:01 (four years ago) link

I'm playing Pieces of Me for imago now and he loves it.

i said it was decent ffs xp

imago, Thursday, 10 October 2019 18:11 (four years ago) link

current huge regret is that Boris - Farewell wasn't nominated, as I'm not such a fan of the rest of Pink but this is above and beyond. tt sharing my regret by the looks of it

imago, Thursday, 10 October 2019 18:44 (four years ago) link

it's "piece of me"

"get naked (i got a plan)" is still the greatest song title of all time though

american bradass (BradNelson), Thursday, 10 October 2019 18:46 (four years ago) link

I meant I was playing Ashlee Simpson - imago needs no convincing with Britney, thankfully. My favourite from Blackout is probably Heaven on Earth, but how do you even really choose.

Pink is proving much more accessible and wonderful than I thought Boris actually is

tangenttangent, Thursday, 10 October 2019 18:50 (four years ago) link

voted!

kraudive, Thursday, 10 October 2019 19:50 (four years ago) link

I wasn't around for the noms, so was sad but not surprised to see my track of the decade wasn't included: "The Greater Times"

kraudive, Thursday, 10 October 2019 19:55 (four years ago) link

still torn on Oops! vs Piece Of Me vs Toxic
