Voted sugababes partly cos it's a great song and partly cos when they happened to come in the shop I was working in they refused to sign any copies of their album because the picture of them on the cover " didn't do them justice" which as excuses go is p good.

I was gonna vote Push the Button cos it's pretty unique but changed back to Overload final draft cos what a debut single and what an attitude it exudes

also I too love Overload and it was a very late cut for me, glad it made it nonetheless

I didn't vote for any Newsom but Ys made a big impression on me at the time and if I was going to pick a standout track 'Emily' would be it.

IMO "Chicago" loses a lot of its impact when listened outside the context of the album. On it's own it kinda sounds like it's trying too hard for a big, sweeping sound, but within Illinois, everything else has been building up to it.

I am thinking to post another 1 now, and 5 later. Does that sound acceptable?

I voted for Chicago. Soaring strings and singing about mistakes is a winning formula. The notion of being in love with the illusion of somewhere based on the emotional connections enjoyed there always seemed so romantic and amazing to me when I would hear this whilst unpacking 60 crates of Christmas books.

xps My boy was born to Push the Button. Like a total ponce, I'd taken Eno and SoTL with me but in the madness 'what music?!' was waaaay down the list. The registrar chose - by default - and it was so fucking perfect I'm tearing up thinking about it.
