I voted for Chicago. Soaring strings and singing about mistakes is a winning formula. The notion of being in love with the illusion of somewhere based on the emotional connections enjoyed there always seemed so romantic and amazing to me when I would hear this whilst unpacking 60 crates of Christmas books.
Will check, Neechy!

Okay. This next one has the highest enthusiasm score in the entire rollout. Few of you voted for this, but those who did, you LOVED it
― imago, Monday, 14 October 2019 14:57 (four years ago) link
Maybe even still do!
― imago, Monday, 14 October 2019 14:58 (four years ago) link
xps My boy was born to Push the Button. Like a total ponce, I'd taken Eno and SoTL with me but in the madness 'what music?!' was waaaay down the list. The registrar chose - by default - and it was so fucking perfect I'm tearing up thinking about it.
And Clemenza, good to be reminded it's the best job in the world. That video is awesome.

I have images down to 83. Shall I just go to there and see what we can cook up later? In case we have a busy day later in the week it might be good to go as far as possible...

Oh, this one! If I'd remembered how great it was I'd have given it a vote.

Oh yeah, Pow! Extremely good, should probably have voted
― Frederik B, Monday, 14 October 2019 15:07 (four years ago) link
Still hope to see another track which samples Pow! place.

this is well good yeah

Voted 'pow' too. Great tune. Mad at myself for not him nominating kano's "reload it" which gets me almost as amped as ' pow' does and I am not a person prone to ampage.

This is a very fitting tie in that I love them both and didnt vote for either

Think I put La Ritournelle at #3, such a stunningly beautiful piece of music
― mfktz (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Monday, 14 October 2019 15:39 (four years ago) link
Johnny Boy song is good, but the song title is so twee that I remember it as worse than it is lol
La Ritournelle is one of my many regrets, I blame the fact that I mostly looked through old playlists for my inspiration and that was a later discovery for me

i think it's fair to say that we should feel relieved about anything that made it into the poll - the competition being so intense
enjoying the tellier!

there is going to be 1 more track then a big old break for arguments, cheers, naysaying and such

I don't know if that's the first two-time producer or not: "Anthems" and "You! Me! Dancing!" are both Toronto's Dave Newfeld.

I don't know a lot of these. I was into Broken Social Scene but have never heard of this song.
― frame casual (dog latin), Monday, 14 October 2019 16:04 (four years ago) link
wow i admit that i don't know a lot of these, but based on some cursory listening there's a reason why i retreated into noise and techno for much of the decade— a lot of stuff that sounds very meh to me.
― blue light or electric light (the table is the table), Monday, 14 October 2019 16:05 (four years ago) link
like that Los Campesinos track is the sort of thing i'd genuinely like, and then the bells come in and i need to turn it off.
― blue light or electric light (the table is the table), Monday, 14 October 2019 16:07 (four years ago) link
Substitute 'classical' for 'noise and techno' and we're on the same wavelength.
― pomenitul, Monday, 14 October 2019 16:08 (four years ago) link
La Ritournelle is lovely though

The only two songs I hadn’t head before is Overload and Pow. I did not expect the Sugababes one to sound like this, reminds me of Beck. I like this.
I don’t know about Lethal Bizzle, I never quite got into grime and I’m definitely not starting in my mid 30’s.
