is there some other way to spend the rollout?

There's what I've done the past few years, which is forget to vote and then spend the entire rollout making fun of the music other people like

a time-honored tradition tbh

The Squalls Of Hate (sleeve), Friday, 24 January 2020 18:03 (four years ago) link

american bradass (BradNelson), Friday, 24 January 2020 18:13 (four years ago) link

It's always tougher than I think it'll be, this voting lark. Will get my ballot in tonight, though.

Sorry DJP, but while I like the clipping. stuff I know, I haven't listened to this album so it won't make my ballot ;_;

emil.y, Friday, 24 January 2020 19:03 (four years ago) link

No worries! Go listen to it but don't worry about the ballot

totally unnecessary bewbz of exploitation (DJP), Friday, 24 January 2020 19:04 (four years ago) link

got my albums done and my tracks down to 26, what do i get rid of

opden gnash (imago), Friday, 24 January 2020 20:32 (four years ago) link

spoiler: clipping made one of my ballots

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Friday, 24 January 2020 20:34 (four years ago) link

Voted!

(nb no clipping)

Ngolo Cantwell (Chinaski), Friday, 24 January 2020 20:42 (four years ago) link

i voted!

i even did a tracks ballot which i usually never bother with

Saxophone Of Futility (Michael B), Friday, 24 January 2020 20:46 (four years ago) link

Right, my ballots are almost ready to go but I've put a few write-ins on my tracks one. I say this most years but I use my ilx ballots as a record of my listening over the year, and I like participating more than I have a desire to "win", so I really don't mind if the write-ins don't get counted. Sorry to the runners if this is annoying though.

emil.y, Friday, 24 January 2020 20:48 (four years ago) link

I forgot to vote for 2 albums that were high up in my shortlist so i'll need to resubmit. I'll also submit a tracks ballot this time

Oor Neechy, Friday, 24 January 2020 20:49 (four years ago) link

resubmitted albums ballot and also included a tracks ballot this time

Oor Neechy, Friday, 24 January 2020 21:03 (four years ago) link

Voted!

I wish DJ Khaled ft. Cardi B & 21 Savage's "Wish Wish" had made the nominations list -- my favorite Cardi appearance of the year.

I will try to get a list in tonight.

karl is otm above about the RAP - Export album, it's great

Dan S, Friday, 24 January 2020 21:17 (four years ago) link

Only gone and done it, mates.

emil.y, Friday, 24 January 2020 21:23 (four years ago) link

Voted! Very exciting

tangenttangent, Friday, 24 January 2020 21:32 (four years ago) link

The following is listed twice in the albums list:

Toshio Hosokawa -Gardens
Mario Caroli, Ukho Ensemble Kiyv & Luigi Gaggero - Toshio Hosokawa: gardens

Poll-runners take note: accidental vote-splitting because of this could cost it its top ten spot.

I've fixed this behind the scenes - vote for whichever you want but they'll be counted together.

have made the cruellest cut, let's do this

opden gnash (imago), Friday, 24 January 2020 21:48 (four years ago) link

excited to see the rollout, i think this past year has been the least i've ever paid attention to whats popular, on here or elsewhere. very real chance that i haven't heard of multiple things in the top 10

ciderpress, Friday, 24 January 2020 21:55 (four years ago) link

it is done, no looking back

opden gnash (imago), Friday, 24 January 2020 21:55 (four years ago) link

i think this past year has been the least i've ever paid attention to whats popular

I've got a very 'pop' oriented tracks ballot but only really in sound rather than popularity. I've been trying to think of BIG albums and tracks that will definitely place and could only come up with LDR and Billie Eilish.

emil.y, Friday, 24 January 2020 22:14 (four years ago) link

BELFAP!

opden gnash (imago), Friday, 24 January 2020 22:15 (four years ago) link

this may be the first time I voted that my #1 album isn’t in the top 77 - it was my top nomination but I didn’t campaign for it and haven’t seen it mentioned here

Dan S, Saturday, 25 January 2020 01:14 (four years ago) link

*first time since I started voting

Dan S, Saturday, 25 January 2020 01:24 (four years ago) link

Voted. A little sad I didn't nominate the Versus album.

Voted. My feelings yo-yoing between the old lady’s conviction and the little girl’s bewilderment right now. Could do with some black coffee.

I had high hopes for doing a thorough listen to all the nominations, but in the end a short unweighted albums ballot was all I could manage.

Voted. Caught up on a bunch of records in late December and early January, but then looking at the nominations tonight, realized there were some I wanted to hear but hadn't. With Xchuckx E no longer here, I will probably be the only voter for southern soul album acts LJ Echols and Ms. Jody. Oh well.

Voted. I almost decided to skip the tracks this year, but decided to just choose my favorites from those listed (and I still second-guessed the Hell out of my choices). Looking forward to the roll-outs.
