I went for Slip It In but that's just because it's what I'm feeling lately. Black Coffee, Rats Eyes, The Bars, My Ghetto. That sums up my life experience for the last few months. Don't get me wrong, I grew up on Damaged and all the pre-Rollins stuff, but Nervous Breakdown, TV Party, Rise Above and Six Pack express a hope and sense of lightness I don't really feel right now.

I think My War is going to be a bit of a dark horse in this poll.
― Herman G. Neuname, Tuesday, 15 January 2008 11:45 (sixteen years ago) link
7 hours left nearly til poll close. Vote!

what clown car pulled up and voted for who's got the 10 1/2?
― Edward III, Wednesday, 16 January 2008 02:26 (sixteen years ago) link
I love that there are votes for every album. Somebody more obsessive than me needs to find out which other bands on ILM have had that kind of result.
― sleeve, Wednesday, 16 January 2008 02:36 (sixteen years ago) link
Husker Du managed that too.

I think thats a great live album.
― Herman G. Neuname, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 18:44 (sixteen years ago) link
Yeah, as far as live albums go, that's one of the better ones I've ever heard.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 18:56 (sixteen years ago) link
Just listening to it now for the first time. Sounds tons better than Live '84 so far.
― MacDara, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 20:27 (sixteen years ago) link
i found one cassette of a audio book version of get in the van in our practice space, been rocking rollins bad vibes in the car all week.
good lord i can't believe anyone put themselves through that shit. lots of lolz but jesus christ it sounds like it was miserable.
― M@tt He1ges0n, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 20:33 (sixteen years ago) link
dunno, it always struck me as blandly rocking combined with rollins being insufferable by that point. I find the whole "who's got the 10 1/2" routine is cringe-inducing.

Oh god, I'm boring but it's Damaged all the way.
My favourite Flag story comes from a friend of mine who saw them at the Christmas on Earth Festival in Leeds. When was it? 1981? He must have been about 13.
The glue bag, studded ,mohawks just did not understand How could this fucking Yank bunch of 'straights' out punk by far, every fucker on the bill.

I don't think the amg writer would agree with the ILM placing of My War

I forget if we did an ep's poll. If we didn't, anyone interested in one? Or are we all SST'd out for now?
If 5 people say do it then I might just go ahead.

Just tried listening to My War for the first time in like 25 years. Yeesh. They should have called it quits after Damaged.

they were rentacop venue security, got a little bugged out after not doing anything about 30 mins of stage diving because for the past few years the venue has only really hosted world music shows, but all this is beside the point really, it was a great show, good sound, fun crowd

ah, gotcha.
GREEN with envy not to have been there, btw!

As I said way the fuck upthread:
Fuck vocals; Slip It In wins for me because of Bill Stevenson's drumming on the title track and on "The Bars."
