Is "Gil e Jorge" the most dumbfoundingly beautiful album ever made?

Voted 'probably'. 'Taj Mahal' is probably my favourite ever tune to bellow along to - I'd say this was one of my favourite versions, except that I don't think there are any bad versions.

yeah rod's disco days came later, but still, hard to get over. not that echoes of rod's sampling ruins the album or anything, just jolts the mood weirdly

i love how it opens with that strumming and crooning. always gets peoples attention. this album is almost psychedelic with the repetition, especially filhos de gandhi (my fav track).

Just blazed up and put it on. God, it's going to be a good night.

"Meu Glorioso Sao Cristovao," 2:33: Gil on the left, fast-talking glossolalia, Ben on the right, sturdy as a ship, occupying different islands and in absolute perfect sync.

4:08: Cibula referred to Gil as being way out of tune throughout and this is probably one of the moments he means. But even though I can hear that he is, he doesn't sound like it to me, at all, anywhere on this album.

5:19: Exact same note at exact same time, held for two whole seconds, shivers.

6:06: Ben in falsetto, held a second, and right before he lets it go, Gil comes in with a quick swoop that ends within a millisecond of his friend; utter telepathy.

Last 20 seconds: so soft, obliterating everything in its path.

"Nega," 2:01: I never noticed that quaver in Ben's voice.
