nobody's come up with a decent worthwhile crticism of The Streets

What about the fact that he's a wasteful scumbag for releasing Don't Mug Yourself for the sure-to-be-met-with-mild-indifference third single off the album instead of the vastly superior Too Much Brandy?

FOURTH SINGLE!!!

Tom (Groke), Friday, 1 November 2002 13:30 (twenty-one years ago) link

i said that first Matt! but i like 'dont mug yourself' now and i like hearing it around town at the mo cos its a single...'too much brandy' wouldnt have worked really cos i doubt they'd be able to retain the 'you wan buy cocaine?' skit in it

plus the fact that its the fourth single can be applied to so many bands that as a criticism of Skinner himself it dont quite cut the mustard

Yeah, I know... I just thought it'd be amusing to throw your own criticism back in your face.

well i never said it was decent

Haha, people take The Streets seriously?

Callum (Callum), Friday, 1 November 2002 19:14 (twenty-one years ago) link

yes callum- many ppl here take pop seriously. a lot of ppl here are pro-pop (nearly everybody finds something good in it), though a lot of music is discussed.

Don't Mug Yourself sounds like it belongs on the Go-Kart Mozart album. (Why are we supposed to take the Streets seriously and not Lawrence Heyward?)

I have always taken Lawrence Hayward as seriously as my life.
