I have not even heard the PF song, but I absolutely abhor Petty's. (Though I am biased because Tom Petty represents everything I hate about anything)

"down to Wright and a drummachine."

i read that as "down to Wright and a duchebag"...and was tryng to figure out when that wasn't true after gilmore's joining...

i think i ight enjoy slugging tom petty, but he might just be one of those hings that rubs me the wrong way...or just slugable...you all know how you feel.

defend the band if it was down to Wright and a drummachine.

You haven't heard that Zee album from the early 80s then? (which *is* Wright and a drum machine/fairlight)

Petty hasn't been interesting since he fired drummer Stan and hired Jeff Lynne.

two years pass...

They are pretty much DISMISSED by everyone except Floyd fanatics who probably still defend the band if it was down to Wright and a drummachine.

this actually sounds like it would be pretty cool.

Both are underrated in this thread, but Petty is the better one.
