"New Age Girl", Deadeye Dick. Funny, this was going through my head shortly before bed a few nights ago. And I couldn't for the life of me figure out why, 'cause I haven't heard it since it was a hit.
xpost: Gabrielle's "Dreams" owns.

what is this thread for exactly? aren't there many "forgotten hits" threads like this floating around? maybe seahorse has something specific in mind?

Whoever did that song "Mr. Personality"...and then some other alternative radio staple that sounded very dated at the time (it sounded like something they'd play for the intro of E!'s Talk Soup or something...very 80's, sounding a bit like Momus' "I Was a Maoist Intellectual" at higher BPM) and I think it repeated something like "ex-junkie born again didn't have a clue" a hundred times over.

Title of this thread is basically why I listened to all the NOWs of the 90s a while back. Got some real forgotten gems on there. And by 'gems' I mean songs that were awful but somehow I can identify it within 3 seconds and know every word.

A while ago I was at the supermarket and I heard a song that I consider a candidate for the most generic 90's one hit wonder possible, at least in terms of North American hits. A song that I definitely recognized, but was completely unable to place the identity of the band and had to Shazam it, and still didn't recognize the band name.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Maz6jFdvn2Q

Phew.... well and I don't know. I have all this laying around on a 90's playlist and they were all on the billboard top 10 but I very rarely hear them anymore out there:
Texas - Say What You WantFun Lovin' Criminals - Scooby SnacksButthole Surfers - PepperJames - She's A StarMasterboy - Land Of DreamingQueen - Heaven For EveryonePassengers - Miss SarajevoEdwyn Collins - Girl Like YouBon Jovi - Something for the PainShaggy - In the SummertimeBran Van 3000 - Drinking in L.A.All Saints - Never EverBlur - Country HouseCardigans - CarnivalLighthouse Family - HighYossou N Dour - 7 secondsWes Madiko - AlaneDario G - SunchymeCure - Mint CarRoxette - Wish I Could FlyEverything But The Girl - WrongGeorge Michael - FastloveBryan Adams - The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is YouPaul McCartney - Young BoyU2 - Staring At The SunJon Bon Jovi - Midnight In ChelseaJanet Jackson - Got til its goneINXS - EverythingDuran Duran - Out Of My MindMonaco - What do you want from me?
I guess it depends where you live in. I don't know if any of these are still played in your country home. Maybe they were never popular in your country in the first place. I know 'Drinking in LA' was pretty big everywhere except the US, per example.

K, hopefully you'll find something in there that you had forgotten about. I have a massive 90's list on my computer, these are a few that I remembered. There's probably more. Some of them are awful I know.
― Moka, Tuesday, 13 January 2015 06:10 (nine years ago) link
Oh ok, just realized that the original post is 9 years old, so it's probably useless by now.

Almost tempted to turn this thread into a Spotify playlist but it would feel like a skid mark next to my other lists that have music I actually love to listen to, not just for reminiscing.
