some movement on the sst purgatory that some bands seem to caught in...

i posted elsewhere re:slovenly having some of their albums now appearing on streaming (tho none of the new alliance stuff).

another of of my cult sst favs angst has had a few of their things show up recently as well, including mending wall from 1986 (which is the one of theirs i could never find back in the day and is subsequently new to me and great). cry for happy still didn't make it, but lite life did, hooray! if you've never heard them, a lot of people say they sound like the meat puppets, but maybe more buffalo springfield than crazy horse with their neil influence.

Speaking of SST purgatory, Pell Mell's 3 SST lps showed up mysteriously on Spotify a few months ago.

idk if anyone else needed this, but i was absolutely ecstatic to find the tony toni toné remix album from 1991 has been added! let's groove with the tonys. it's all revival era stuff, peak new jack swing.

A fairly niche example but a bunch of Natural Snow Buildings albums have appeared under NSB Archive.

I would prefer not to. (Chinaski), Saturday, 14 September 2024 16:20 (one week ago) link
