also if "fred durst's knob" and "farty randy goth" could stop trying to friend me, yeah? i will accept friend requests from most randoms on last.fm but i draw the line at people with user names which gross me out

they both keep visiting my page and i keep seeing their names :(

I'm doing this thing now where it sends my top weekly songs to my twitter feed (yeah, I know) and this week one of the songs was a My Chemical Romance song. Lollllllll. It's the only MCR song I know and I love it and listened to it repeatedly on my I-pod this week but just made me laugh because from that post you'd think I really love them in general.

why the change of mind?

sheer boredom.

it is good for leaving messages on shoutboxes and i prefer it to myspace and i dont have a facebook.

Also, now that I have a good connection at work, it's worth being able to follow the links and find new bands that I might like. Though I've had more luck doing it with users I know (and know that I have similar taste) than the reccomended links, which are often quite inexplicable.

the more tracks you play and length of time you are on last fm will make the neighbours and recommendations much much better.

and Kerr, I don't look at their reccomendations, I look at bands I like or users I know, and see what they're related to. Which sometimes brings the win and sometimes is just perplexing.

i've rarely used last.fm artist recommendations - it's v useful for finding out more about a band i don't otherwise know about (other songs by them, similar artists, general info...)

I think the biggest problem is that I've only got it scrobbling at work, where it's quite limited what I have, and what I listen to. If I add my home iTunes as well, then it will be more representative.

(Though top artists of Goldfrapp, Erkin Koray, The xx seems right. Christ, I listen to a lot of Goldfrapp. She's not someone I would ever put as a "top favourite artist" yet she seems to be some kind or aural comfort food I come back to again and again.)

Shit! i didn't realise that it would only import history from one iTunes. So it did my work iTunes, but not the home one, where I have the bulk of my listening. BAH. But I suppose that means I get a clean slate... ARGH, MY TASTE, MY BEAUTIFUL TASTE, IT'S ALL GONE.

i have no idea how itunes works but surely it should scrobble from any comp? i can scrobble from my pc and my laptop. Though i dont use itunes!!

anyway if you have lastfm installed at home now it should scrobble from now on

and i guess it will show a fairer representation of what you played this week rather than a years playing on itunes!

It says it's scrobbling, but nothing I've played in the past 20 minutes has turned up on it yet. :-(
