i'm as surprised as you are.

i'd like to thank unemployment.

and jesus of course.

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 19 October 2002 18:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned is in the lead by 1673 ahead of second place. How much do you want to bet that he will reply to this thread?

A Nairn (moretap), Saturday, 19 October 2002 18:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll bet anyone $100,000 that I reply to it. Any takers?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 October 2002 18:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark (MarkR), Saturday, 19 October 2002 18:53 (twenty-three years ago)

last time i checked i was 40 something. now I'm at 28. there should be at leats 500 more posts since i did post for a while on my toronto email addy. I demand a recount!!!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 19 October 2002 18:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Is this after the whole two years?!?!?

On one of the boards I post to, someone has accumulated 26,000 posts in a matter of months. And having 10,000+ is not uncommon.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Saturday, 19 October 2002 20:30 (twenty-three years ago)

we need a damn good spanking then. we really do.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 19 October 2002 20:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Pay attention to Melissa, Ned - you aren't posting enough.

I note that I am not in the top 50! I must try much harder. I am very acting on ILE, but don't get around these parts so much. I should get some credit for insanely long lists whenever anyone starts a C90: Songs About Rain thread or the like.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 19 October 2002 21:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Not even in the top 50. Awesome.

hstencil, Saturday, 19 October 2002 21:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Pay attention to Melissa, Ned - you aren't posting enough.

I like to step outside every so often. And once or twice I even sleep!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 19 October 2002 21:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmm, I never made it. Does this mean I have a life?

Marinaorgan (Marina Organ), Sunday, 20 October 2002 01:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I predict that the way things are going, I will be bumped back to 13 by Custos, very very soon.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Sunday, 20 October 2002 01:29 (twenty-three years ago)

One of these days I dream of being in the top 50. Sigh, maybe if I practise harder.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Sunday, 20 October 2002 01:46 (twenty-three years ago)

sean, but then you'll be in an accursed position. Post more for luck!

Kim (Kim), Sunday, 20 October 2002 01:47 (twenty-three years ago)

ooh sorry... I unintentionally lowercased you there.

Kim (Kim), Sunday, 20 October 2002 01:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually, 13 is my lucky number, so it won't be so bad. I may pass the pinefox soonish, anyhow, because I tend to blather way more than I should.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Sunday, 20 October 2002 02:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Shut up Sean!

Kim (Kim), Sunday, 20 October 2002 02:38 (twenty-three years ago)

How do I find out my stats?

Keith McD (Keith McD), Sunday, 20 October 2002 03:02 (twenty-three years ago)

You can see the stats for the most active posters if you click on the "Users" link at the bottom of the page.

Kim (Kim), Sunday, 20 October 2002 05:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Keith, you can do a search of your name or email via the "search" link. It will give you your personal ILM biography, I am not sure if Graham has already added the option to see more than 100 results though...

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Sunday, 20 October 2002 06:19 (twenty-three years ago)

is now when i kill myself?

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 3 April 2003 03:53 (twenty-three years ago)

goddamn i'm permanently just outside the top 10. i feel like a Bluetones single.

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 3 April 2003 03:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm guessing the number in parens is the number of threads started?

Mark (MarkR), Thursday, 3 April 2003 03:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Yowp! Add my two addresses and I am number five.

Oy.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Thursday, 3 April 2003 04:01 (twenty-three years ago)

holding steady at #5. i'm the dark horse country single of ilx.

jess (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 3 April 2003 04:03 (twenty-three years ago)

billboard i saw today advertising the country music channel:

'number of #1 hits: michael jackson: 12. alan jackson: 20.'

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 3 April 2003 04:11 (twenty-three years ago)

thank fucking god (the irony is this post puts me in that list).

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 3 April 2003 04:42 (twenty-three years ago)

geez, I'm at 78 even though I've only been posting for a few months. my novel hates me for that. it's horribly jealous of ILM.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 3 April 2003 05:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sonny Tremaine at #1 by tomorrow, anyone?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 3 April 2003 06:09 (twenty-three years ago)

stevem and esoj you're mine! ;-)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 3 April 2003 07:33 (twenty-three years ago)

What scares me is that an email address I haven't used in two years is still top 40.

kate, Thursday, 3 April 2003 07:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha, if Steve and Julio carry on at this rate they'll be sniffing Raggett's perch atop the statscock in no time! That's amazing going for people who've been posting for a year at most.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 3 April 2003 07:40 (twenty-three years ago)

No wonder that I get about 20 spam mails per day if you post my email address here in public, Mark. Could you at least log out before you post the next stats, please? Thanks. :-(

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Thursday, 3 April 2003 07:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Is therer a way for non top-50 people to find out their history?

mei (mei), Thursday, 3 April 2003 07:51 (twenty-three years ago)

''Haha, if Steve and Julio carry on at this rate they'll be sniffing Raggett's perch atop the statscock in no time! That's amazing going for people who've been posting for a year at most.''

and the thing is i reckon i should have at least 500 more posts added bcz I posted to ILX for three months on a canadian email account (I went there to do some research for a while).

I have actually been posting for two years now. but i think i should be on 4000 posts but never mind.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:16 (twenty-three years ago)

Users > Show for all messages > Show more users.

(There's really no need to cut and paste it here now it only takes a couple of seconds for people to load, and please don't post others addresses in message bodies)

Graham (graham), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:19 (twenty-three years ago)

''Julio Desouza 746 (5) jdesouza@c**m.*toronto.ca''
so that's 4000+ hurrah!

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:27 (twenty-three years ago)

(If you want the database modified so that all your email addresses are combined, say so here)

Graham (graham), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:34 (twenty-three years ago)

yes. why not really.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I meant other people. I've just done yours Julio.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:41 (twenty-three years ago)

WOT NO C*L*M?

alexfack (alexfack), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:41 (twenty-three years ago)

I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU. ALL OF YOU.

, Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:43 (twenty-three years ago)

thanks graham.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Nah, that's OK. You can leave it the way that it is. I'm not really that bothered about the statscock any more. And I honestly feel that I was a different person then than I am now, so it's probably better to leave the past in the past. But thanks for the offer.

kate, Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually, it already does combine your addresses kate, but because you don't have an account it's showing your older address.

Graham (graham), Thursday, 3 April 2003 08:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Statscock vs real cock - FITE!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 3 April 2003 09:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Saturday, 5 April 2003 16:29 (twenty-three years ago)

We'd all really like you to know that, Custos.

Graham (graham), Saturday, 5 April 2003 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark (MarkR), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 06:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Awwww I'm still just outside the top 50 at # 53.

Next time I shall be in there 'though - and then the whole world will tremble in fear at my name!

Or something.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 09:47 (twenty-two years ago)

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

The "threads started/total posts" ratio is the key. ILM wisdom say beware of those with high post counts who never actually start threads.

Mark (MarkR), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

What kind of twisted logic is that?

HRH Queen Kate (kate), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 14:04 (twenty-two years ago)

OMG i just found out that i am in top 50 right now, for the first time! can i be your friend now?

Jay Kid (Jay K), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 14:07 (twenty-two years ago)

that will be this month's top 50, of course. i am not entering divinity ... yet.

Jay Kid (Jay K), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought I was supposed to beware people who start lots of threads, but don't contribute to others.

dleone (dleone), Wednesday, 17 December 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

101st. i used to be somewhere in the 30s. it's the new ilm. too many threads on too much music i don't care about.

No, just that I keep dropping in standing every time I look. I'm washed up. A relic.

Alex, i started a thread on the new David Thomas album recently, it didn't last long. It seems i've heard people say more than once that ILM doesn't talk about the stuff they like/know/care about anymore/whenever, and i guess I don't get why people don't just start threads or revive old ones when they hear something they like or are curious about. I certainly start lots of threads on stuff that not a lot of people have heard or care about but that doesn't stop me. The thread will be there in case someone does check it out or someone new comes along. You won't know if other people are into something unless you solicit opinions. Nothing against you, alex. It just seems fairly simple.

That wasn't mean, was it? I wasn't trying to be mean.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 1 September 2004 18:45 (twenty-one years ago)

What does ILM not talk about anymore?

scott, i never saw that david thomas thread. i have to check out the new album (surf's up was phantastic). as there are too many other threads on stuff i don't care about which dominate this board. and i don't check ilm every day any more because of that. i must admit that i have been too lazy to create any new threads recently though i have been enthusiastic about a lot of music in the past months (eno/budd/fripp, bark psychosis, kings of convenience, ostinato and more).

xpost: not mean at all. just a good suggestion.

Cool, Alex. Yeah, I love that new David Thomas to death. It's really good.
