I posted this on the last (x) amount of records thread but have had no takers, so I'm throwing it open to anyone else. I bought a white label 12" last week. I think its deep house(?) c 92/93 and has a spoken intro I've heard people say too much of anything is not good for you baby , but I don't know about that, as many times as we've made love shared love, it just ain't enough and the refrain goes Can't get enough...of your love, any ideas gratefully accepted.

Sounds like there's a Barry White sample in there somewhere, but sadly can't place the track.

sounds just like a house remix of Barry White's 'Can't Get Enough of Your Love'. the spoken word bit is on the Barry White album too IIRC

if its a woman singing its gotta be the Taylor Dayne cover of the Bazza classic - came out around 92/93

Hmm certainly ain't Barry white unless he's changed sex. I guess it must be Taylor Dayne although it sounds more *black* than I remember from her big hit.

well the Taylor Dayne thing is certainly not deep house (that barely existed back then anyway) but it was quite club-orientated in the same way Clivilles & Cole productions were...and yes i guess you could say her deep powerful in-tune voice did sound 'more black' but no more really than on 'Tell It To My Heart'

That off-beat snare makes it sound like a Dancehall rhythm to me, unless there's a more specific nomenclature than that idk.

MaresNest, Sunday, 4 February 2024 22:24 (two years ago)

That's just a variation on the Dembow riddim prevalent in reggaeton and lots of dancehall

I have an 2:48 mp3 saved from 2012 called "Jane". Starts off with a breathy "1 2 3", into a Massive Attack-ish beat background and a Sinead quality vocal. I've searched various bits of the lyrics ("such hearts like yours and mine", "the sun and the moon in an autumn sky", "where we going from here? I don't wanna go far"). Any idea?
