there's a lot of potentially interesting stuff there but i'm especially curious about mutamussik. listen to her track 'gulf rock mix' on the sound ink website - it's only a short burst but i find it realy intriguing (maybe just because it's gone before you can really pin it down or cos of the lo-fi sound quality but maybe not)
a lot of these artists are using middle eastern cut up sounds and rhythms which i find exciting - basically the roster feels like it's extrapolated from part of a dj /rupture mix.
they're being pretty coy about the viktor vaughn (mf doom)release that's due any minute now... has anyone heard the first single yet?(i'm also keen to hear the madlib/doom collaboration - anyone know anything about this? release dates? tracklists?)
do you own any sound ink releases? got any mutamussik? who do you like on the roster?
p.s. i don't know about anyone else, but i find the site really annoying to navigate... if you're trying to hear that mutamussik sample you'll need to click on the little arrows right at the very bottom left hand corner, and then click on 'next', then click on the top track... if your computer's configured like mine it might be impossibly small to read.

In any case, this label seems like it might be getting Def Jux-esque hype in the coming months if their releases hold up to the quality of the compilation.

i have Mutamassik's War Booty EP on Soot and it's the bomb. "babomb" mixes quite nicely into hip-hop but the Sa'aidi stuff totally sets it apart.

got the shit that blow the hair off yr face like billy corrigan/from plymouth rock to portland oregon/cats be like "go back to the store again /i want some more of him/two fills and a quart of gin/ a bottle of cortison and a pen"
mf doom notoriously slow, look how long it took for grimm's iblyis to drop. king ghidra supposed to be out on big dada ages ago also.
