The next single (which'll be her third) is far worse - a sappy ballad called "I'm With You." But "Sk8er Boi" is catchier, and more likely to stick in your head when you're at a funeral or having a nice date or something. So maybe it's more evil.

And the lyrics are just so unbelievably bad. It's scary to picture her scribbling that shit down before The Matrix wrote a tune for it.

The fourth single may be "Losing Grip," which is her "angry" song. I kind of like it, no matter how fake and overwrought everyone'll say it is.

i can't watch the 'sk8er boi' video anymore. it's too intense. not in a bad way, even. but it's so raw. it's like watching someone get cut up. a live person being cut up by some guy with a hacksaw. you know? dismembered! alive! it's bad. i start feeling really cold. my heart beats really fast. i feel a tightness in my chest. i have to look at the floor and lift my head up for occasional glances.

i'm usually okay when it comes on the radio but i can't handle it combined with the video.

I've found her songs have pretty low repeat value but the singles at least I've really liked on first listen, and since I'm not paying for them thats fine by me.

Avril Lavinge's music in like listening to the shittiest teen psychiatry group imaginable, but they've taken out everyone with behavioural problems, and just left the people who need a damn good slap.

i guess it doesn't have a high repeat value for me either, but i still love the way sk8r boi and, um, l8r boi rhyme in the chorus

It's seriously like Blink 182 except with worse lyrics, except I guess blink 182s asses don't look as nice. "he was punk, she did ballet, what more can I say". N0THING MORE PLEASE.

i think its funny that people consider it "punk"

hahahahhaha

Hey, that's an easy one, I'll take "Sk8er Boi."

Why in the world would you guys want a teenager to write lyrics that weren't 100% catty screwed-up teen-think psychology? That's what teenagers are FOR.

I thought teenagers were for projecting marketing impressions on detailing what the kids seem to like these days.
