drums that feel like shifting blocks of pristine concrete beneath your feet, an absent bassline that you can hear like some photographed ghost that only appears after process, and the glistening silver drops of alien brain noise make this EASILY the most innovative hip hop production of the last year or 3. it is, as pharell announces, something the world has never heard. if the most recent array of neptunes productions are 'the future', then this is from a future only attainable in the seat of a delorean, on acid, in space. forgive the nebulous thought wank, what do you lot think? is this about as far as the neptunes can go? or is it just another shiny chrome disc of genius? mediocre? not particularly special? or is it crap?
