Welp there's no thread on ILX for the greatest LA death rock band of all time. Sleep In Safety is a perfect album.

S: Autopsy - early punkier stuff. If you wish the Bags made more records, get this (although it's hard to find unfortunately)

Just noise and screaming and no musical value at all. (Colonel Poo), Tuesday, 13 October 2015 18:32 (eight years ago) link

I saw this show, and they blew my mind at age 18

so classic

I FINALLY got a replacement copy for my old long-gone Sleep In Safety LP, just a couple of weeks ago.

three years pass...

Anyone seen this band recently?

Didn’t even realize that the singer had reunited the band ( albeit with new members it appears). Only knew of them in late 70s and early 80s . So no

Autopsy still rules

way more "punk" than Sleep In Safety, earlier material - I love 'em both though.

avoid the "Debasement Tapes" cash-grab CD

Autopsy is brilliant, I see I have been otm in this thread.

Sleep in safety is good too of course

I remember the Trouser Press book saying something like "why this is appealing to young people I will never understand," but the online review has been updated. I never gave them a listen before today, but Sleep in Safety is appealing to this (old) person.

A breezy pop-rock feel fairly typical of the mid-'80s (Dan Peterson), Thursday, 26 September 2019 19:20 (four years ago) link

Sleeve is also correct about the Debasement Tapes (which I knew as A Devil's Possessions as Cleopatra reissued it with a new title it looks like). Shit quality live stuff

High five sleeve

hell yeah <3

and I will say that "Fucked By The Devil" is pretty essential and only on that Cleopatra CD, but that's it
