Not just after the first album Alex, as I recall they weren't going to carry on without Richey, then they were just going to do one more album 'cos they had all these lyrics Richey had written....

Nicky Wire could stand for the Welsh Assembly next May against an arch-Blairite, and pick up the support of the disillusioned Old Labour supporters in the valleys who went for Plaid Cymru last time. That would be a better future career than continuing the band.

My God, a pop band having the gall to PUT OUT RECORDS and use crappy publicity GIMMICKS to sell more of them? I'm staggered. Yeah it is all a bit unpleasantly cynical re; their "politics" and Richey, but that's what happens, isn't it?
