gotta respect an artist who "unleashes" his magnum opus so long into his career

The Beach Boys' Mike Love unveiled a sprightly new song, "Unleash the Love," the title track from his upcoming double LP, out November 17th via BMG.

The rollicking tune boasts a busy but soulful arrangement filled with organ, piano, horns, acoustic guitar and plenty of back-up vocals and harmonies. Love's lyrics carry a simple yet endearing message – "It's in our power to change this planet's destiny/ If we unleash the love" – and the musician even interpolates the Youngbloods' famed "Come on people now" refrain from "Get Together."

I've never once thought this year "ooh, Ed Sheeran has an album, I must listen to this" and deliberately put it on. For the same reasons as I don't listen to James Blunt, or drink bleach, or lick toilets, or take a Black & Decker drill to my leg...

I've found that I have to listen to Moz albums to work out if they are shite or not.

e.g. "World Peace" was musically very rich, and the songs were interesting. But it got slagged by those who disagreed with Morrissey himself.

Other albums got praised back in the day, but they proved to be dull.

I wasn’t listening to that Ed Sheeran record willfully. A friend played it when it came out at some bbq party and the host proceeded to change to reggaeton after a couple of songs since we were all falling asleep to it.
