Cars drive is one of my faves cuz it loops the intro for so long as many of these mixes do and when the lyrics finally drop it’s great.

Prince has several great ones. I think his best ones are 'I Would Die 4 U' and 'I Wish U Heaven.' But practically any 12" long versions he released in the 80s range from really good to fantastic.
I really like a lot of the Cure's extended mixes. My favorites are the ones for 'Just One Kiss,' 'Fascination Street,' and the Paul Oakenfold remix of 'Close to Me,' but they had gotten so good at those long mixes by the end of the 80s. Even the ones from Wish are still pretty strong.
And obviously, New Order has a bunch of great ones. Really like the 'Perfect Kiss' long version.
Unfortunately, these didn't seem to survive much past the 80s. One of the more recent-ish ones that's really good is the long version of 'The Sea is So Quiet' on the Trembling Blue Stars 2005 EP Bathed in Blue.
I really wish these would make a full-on comeback.

was mainly chuffed cos of the FGTH remix thats not available anywhere else on cd, but some of the others are rather fine as well.
