The late 60s / early 70s hippie era had a lot of "women's lib" type songs and media, but personally I find a lot of it missed the mark or just came across as a bit garish or hokey. As a good 80s baby, I've connected way more with similar-minded stuff from the punk and new wave scene. I love this stuff personally and would definitely like to hear more.

Here's a couple to get going. . .

The Field Mice — Song Six (1990)

The Passions — Why Me (1980)

Let's make a virtual mixtape!

I’d be interested to hear more about the “women’s lib” songs from the ‘60s; I can’t think of many!
