Elton John - Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano POLLer

I still love both the hits, but "Blues for My Baby and Me" remains my favourite reason for never just sticking with the Greatest Hits comps.

I always, without fail, think of Elderberry Wine first when I think of this album.

I hate both hits, love "Have Mercy on the Criminal," "Eldeberry Wine," and "Teacher I Need You."

Had to check to see if I had this--I don't, so all I know are the two hits. Never liked "Daniel," still like "Crocodile Rock," but I imagine there's something better on there.

The ballads “Blues For My Baby and Me” and “High Flying Bird” are my favourite things on the record, but pretty much the entire A-side is great.

Teacher.. in a heartbeat.

High Flying Bird and Elderberry Wine are both terrific, but Daniel is huge for a reason.

"daniel" is sublime yacht rock, but "elderberry wine," with elton playing glam-rock guitar on his piano, is the masterpiece here.

bruce springsteen's piano vamping at the tony awards could have broken out into "blues for baby and me" at any given moment. that would have actually made more sense than "my hometown," which it did lead into.
