brave belt is very debatable. i think adjectives are ok, but only if they would be universally recognized (eg, everyone would agree that a certain pair of jeans are "pissed". but not everyone would agree that a certain belt is "brave"). i don't know why this matters to me, but it does.

it means they didn’t wear culottes (long pants), it’s a term from the revolution, denotes a kind of working class status, anti-aristocracy etc.

sorry it’s actually the opposite: sans culottes didn’t wear knee breeches, they just wore regular long trousers

the thermals is a good one but is that a thing that people say? i say "thermal underwear" or "thermal shirt" or "thermal pants". i never say "my thermals". but i only wear the stuff like 5-6 days a year so i am not an expert.

do plaid have any defenders here? i thought maybe they would, as the poll's only electronic music representative. but tbh, even back in the late 90s when i was listening to them a lot more, they always struck me as one of those groups that is no one's very favorite.
