I would love to see Ken Marino try to recreate it.

Hey John Patitucci, you have too many strings, just play a guitar, you wanker.

Also, Dave Weckl (I assume), you're playing too much, too, and yeah, I know it's fusion, but there's a reason no one calls you their favorite drummer, and that's because not every gig should sound like a drum clinic demo.

And Chick, ditch the keytar, it's a stupid distraction for someone who is already a showoff.

Complaining about these guys being absurd is like complaining about opera having implausible plots. Just let yourself love it.

Oh, I get it. This was just the apex of bad fusion to me is all, where the cheese factor was cranked up to a million. I liked the cooler, funkier '80s fusion, like Scofield.

Listen to Dennis Chambers just lay back and enjoy the groove.

mclaughlin is just a different flavor of scientologist

Jonas Hellborg put out a cool record on Axiom. Here's an awesome duet between him and Tony Williams (plus strings).

If anyone could nail it, it's Ken. It already looks like it's pulled from a State sketch.
