Oh wait, we're supposed to vote for the actual top-selling album?

It’s a tough choice, but I’m going to have to go for the one that sold the most albums, the only eligible choice in this poll

is this a test of our knowledge where we're supposed to vote for what we think the top selling album was?

(I voted for what turned out to be the correct one, but I'm not gonna spoil it for everyone else)

Based on a few sites, my vote was also correct, and this was not particularly surprising.

I thought Ten would be on the list, thus addressing Karl's point.

Wait, is this the album that sold the most copies IN 1992 or the album on this list that has sold the most copies overall?

Just vote for the album that you think is best, at having been purchased by consumers, numerically

Yeah, if it's overall, I'm pretty sure I was right. If it was the album that sold the most copies IN 1992, it might not be on this list. I think this list is actually a list of albums that reached the #1 spot on Billboard's Top 200 in 1992, which isn't exactly the same thing as "best-selling albums".

Spoiler alert, but this article seems to have the answer (assuming we’re taking about U.S. here) as well as a bunch of other top-selling albums of the year: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1993-01-05-ca-1031-story.html

That gives an answer re the album that sold the most copies in the US in 1992 (which I didn't notice on the list when I wrote my last post). It is not the album on the list that has sold the most copies worldwide over time.
