I recently discovered this long-running British reggae/R&B group (fell in love with "Live & Direct") and don't know much else about them -- tell me more about what's good and what isn't, what their context was, how they were/are viewed in the UK, etc.

"Live & Direct" is my favourite but everybody should hear "A New Chapter of Dub" which is almost as excellent
they had some UK pop hits in the late 80s(?) - going from memory regarding when - which no doubt leads a bunch of people to right them off but they had 3 or 4 albums (again I think) of solid to great Roots in their early years

I've been playing "Rockers Medley" over and over again -- it made me want to start a whole thread about live recordings where crowd noises feel like an essential part of the music.
