Music that sounds like Castlevania...

Help me out here!

Got nothing to offer on this but I am also interested. (Also I hope this confuses me less than "Music that sounds like Earthbound", where my first reaction is always to wonder at apparent sizeable fandom for a live King Crimson album of lo-fi and distorted blues-rock.)

Not sure if it sounds like Castlevania, but Autechre's Hub always makes me think of dungeon-level video games, portcullises opening and closing etc...

Jacula - Tardo Pede In Magiam Versus
Jacula - In Cauda Semper Stat Venenum
Antonius Rex - Neque Semper Arcum Tendit Rex

Both bands are sort of the same band. Unfortunately the official history is an obvious pack of lies and we may never know who really made a lot of the music. Almost all the other albums have little to recommend them, and I doubt they share many of the musicians who made the good albums.

If you get this album make sure you avoid the version with "Absolution", which is a new track by what cant really be considered the same band.

Maybe the later Malice Mizer albums? A J-rock kind of thing.
