Pleasant floridly-lyrical slightly-folky balladry from 1970, in memory of Clive James, writer of the lyrics, who finally died the other day.

Full youtube playlist here - guess it is probably on Spotify too.

I read about this in the context of Clive James's death. I've never heard it. Maybe I'll give it a listen.

Nice little album - I've never heard anything quite like it. RIP Clive James

several years ago now I inherited a load of LPs from my grandpa's collection when my grandma decided she wanted to get rid of them (he'd died about 15 years before this), I just went through and pulled out anything that looked vaguely interesting. One of them was a Best of Pete Atkin, has a few songs off this album on it, of which I quite liked Girl On The Train and Beware Of The Beautiful Stranger

I wish I was more attentive. I quite like the 1971 record but haven't knowingly heard this one before. "Girl On The Train" sounds alright, for starters...

two years pass...

Have You Got A Biro I Can Borrow? is awesome. The whole LP is good, I decided some time since this poll, but that's the one that gets stuck in my head all the time.

wow, listening to Girl on the Train and really liking this. Voice reminds me a bit of Wizz Jones (who I love).
