Wishing For the Tour to Come to Your Town

Alright, What band do you guys wanna see live, but probably won't for a while?

I'd like Turbonegro to bring an extension of the Res-Erection tour stateside, and I haven't seen Ween in quite some time, but I think they have another 47 months of dicking around in the studio before they hit the road again.

Youse?

Big fat list. Tops at the moment:

Boredoms
Mr. Scruff
Friends Forever
Mouse On Mars
Carl Craig

I'd love to see Tom Waits, but even if he tours around here anything in the future I doubt I'll be able to afford going. The same applies to Bobby Zimmerman and Lou Reed.

I'd like to see The Flaming Lips, Circulatory System, The Shipping News, Twelve Hour Turn and Yo La Tengo.

I want to see again: Against Me, Sonic Youth (who I'm seeing on Saturday!), Quintron, Wolf Eyes, Xiu Xiu, Fugazi.

Friends Forever

If you get the chance.. just go. Drive three hours, but go. Seeing them a few weeks back was utterly amazing. Involving pumpkins, smoke machines, bubble machines, fire, kerosene and a pinata.

bands always skip denver but always seem to make time for tucson or minneapolis.

keith (keithmcl), Thursday, 21 November 2002 04:03 (twenty-one years ago) link

what is denver close to?

Josh (Josh), Thursday, 21 November 2002 04:45 (twenty-one years ago) link

nothing really, but it is not far from i-80 which is presumably the route most bands take as they drive on by.

keith (keithmcl), Thursday, 21 November 2002 05:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

if that were the only criterion then more bands would stop in iowa.

Josh (Josh), Thursday, 21 November 2002 05:22 (twenty-one years ago) link

I was shocked that The Streets came to the USA (let alone the west coast).

I don't think I'll be seeing Pulp/Jarvis Cocker play or spin or anything for awhile.

Now just waiting for the Avalanches to do more than just a DJ set.

george gosset (gegoss), Thursday, 21 November 2002 08:35 (twenty-one years ago) link

Definitely Tom Waits.

I've seen Nick Cave once before, but I'm very keen to see him again.

And loads of dead folk.

I can never get enough of Quintron or the Rah Bras. I'd love to see the Polysics, and The Ass Baboons of Venus.

Helltime, what's this about Turbonegro being back together? Please tell me. I want to know. They're the one band, if I had to pick one, that I wanted to see live and never did.

matt riedl (veal), Thursday, 21 November 2002 21:52 (twenty-one years ago) link

No, you know what the worst is? The worst is when you get emails from fans in out of the way places, asking you to come to their town. So you do. You go out of your way to book a bloody gig in the geographic centre of nowhere (OK, Leeds) and you go and play the gig there, and then they DON'T TURN UP. Gee, thanks fans. Sigh.

kate, Thursday, 21 November 2002 21:57 (twenty-one years ago) link

COME TO LEEDS AGAIN KATE. Or maybe SHEFFIELD, or, more conveniently still, DONCASTER. We have street-art.

alexfack (alexfack), Thursday, 21 November 2002 22:03 (twenty-one years ago) link

Felix Da Houscat, really badly.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 21 November 2002 22:06 (twenty-one years ago) link

I doubt we'll be back to Leeds again soon. Thanks to the support bands and the draconian last bus schedule, we went on at close to midnight and played to five people (no dog). Sheffield, however, we love, and we play there all the time. [shameless plug]we'll be at the Sheffield Casbah on 19th December. If Suzy, Ed and mates are up for it, we could make it an FAP.[/shameless plug]

Matt Reidl, I got this from TUBONEGRO.com, check it out, you can be album art.

Hey YOU! Wanna appear on the new

TURBONEGRO album???

Then read this: For the insert cover we need a color photo of the back of one representative of each TJ chapter across the world (wearing the chapter jacket, of course). The big plan is to make a collage with all currently existing divisions.
Also we need photos of Turbonegro tattoos and more such as home made shirts etc. Deadline is around the 1st of December - so hurry up please and send everything to: bimbo@bitzcore.de or turbonegro@burningheart.com or alternatively
via snail mail to: Burning Heart Records, Att:TURBONEGRO, PO Box 441, 70148, Örebro, SWEDEN

The Levis Denim jackets
Here's a new special service for jackets:
At a minimum order of 3 jackets we can put your own city name on the back of the jacket for an extra charge of Euro 15. Like "Turbojugend New York" or "Turbojugend Zimbabwe". We need the money in advance and you have to be a bit more patient - the production takes longer than for the normal jackets.
Price change: Both Levis and the embroidering company raised the prices so we have to do that as well. The new price will be valid soon so take the chance and order now!

TURBONEGRO ARE BACK!!!!

Yes it's true. The classic "Dudes" line-up. On Burning Heart.

Felix Da Houscat, really badly.

He's spinning tomorrow in a club near from my apartment, a five minute walk. And I'm not even sure if I'll go...should I?

Siegbran (eofor), Friday, 22 November 2002 16:55 (twenty-one years ago) link

Another vote for Tom Waits. I haven't seen Pere Ubu since 1980 and I still haven't managed to get around to seeing The Residents (I guess I should be glad they're both still going!) and I'd rather like to see Polyphonic Spree again when I'm not half pissed and completely knackered at the end of a long day at Reading Festival.

On the plus side however I am going to see Flaming Lips next January, hurrah!
