fuck it, i'm giving em their own thread. probably one of my favorite of the crossover/blackened thrash movement, mostly because Joel Grind seems to have an earnest belief in what he does and isn't just trying to "recreate" a dead genre, cos to him, it never really went away. he formed the band at a period of time where thrash had basically died or gone heavily underground, with many leading bands creating albums like fuckin Endorama
anyway, I think the latest one (Primal Future: 2019) is fucking fantastic, and I have no idea why they didn't play more songs off of it live when I saw them (one total). I love the cover artwork, the concept, songwriting is still ear-wormy af, the songs are built out a little bit more than usual, and Joel varies his vocal style by song. Plus they released a cool picture disc version that I just picked up.
I think Chemistry of Consciousness is one of their best, with "Awaken the Serpent" being one of my fav opening tracks of theirs. I think I gravitate towards Conjure and Command when I want more aggressive, Slayer-esque blackened thrash, Overdose of Death when I want more ballz to the wall crossover (it has "Wild Dogs" and "Nuke the Cross", ffs).
I don't think they've put out anything bad, but their last two releases expand their sound a little bit (insofar as much as a niche artist like Joel Grind would ever expand them).
anyway, who else is a fan?
I am a bit of a fan but I have to say, after two albums their palette seemed a bit limited, I haven’t followed what they’re doing these days.

they definitely don't have a wide range, per se, but they put out albums so infrequently nowadays (6 years between the last ones) I'm just glad to have more from them.
