Yeah, I'm actually in favour of separating non-notated EA/musique concrète and sound art out of "classical" (not that it appears in that thread much anyway) and free improv out of "jazz", and good with separating brickwalled Ke$hacore (a couple of songs of which I've enjoyed) into its own category.

I much prefer throwing everything into the mix and seeing what sticks, but if imago's cool with having his own hyperstuff thread then I'll just have to bookmark them both and hope I choose the right one when I'm posting.

I don't know if I really get this thread's remit, but the new Rachika Nayar is impressive. I like it a lot more than her previous album. The way it bursts into ravey technicolor at times never fails to delight (though it might be alienating if all you want is Grouper-y banks of melancholic guitar fog), and in general this sounds like a big step up in ambition and achievement to me
