clicks and cuts 3

i've not seen much (any?) mention of this here, but i got it yesterday and... and i'm really liking it, much to my surprise. i'm surprised because although i haven't heard any mille plateaux stuff since modulation & transformation 4 the reviews i've seen have been pretty terrible; and also because i've been mostly anti-idm for the last couple of years.

it's certainly not full-on kompakt style pop (ok, we can dispute whether or not kompakt are pop, but you know what i mean), but there's a lot more playfulness here than i expected, a lot less glitch for the sake of it.

anyone else?

i like it , seems to have more of a "groove" than the previous clicks and cuts, less process more house music..

I just bought the Clickhop comp, which I'm liking more than I did Clicks & Cuts 2, which I liked more than the first one, as each one as you go along (in time, not my list) has more groove and pop. So by this logic Clicks & Cuts 3 should be great.

I thought C&C2 was a whole bunch of no fun. It'll take a lot to make me get 3.

Did you like the earlier editions, Michalangelo?

This series could be a great three-volume set -- with each volume consisting of one disc instead of two or three.

Tim your logic points in the right direction in that C&C 3 is probably the most hybridized and pop of those compilations as toby says. The sound is a lot more representational and referential rather than scatters of abstract formal components. Because of this though, it's not really fluid and tends to shine in peaks leaving the rest in valleys of less distinguished material.
