Nice use of the blue writing, phil.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 9 December 2002 05:54 (twenty-three years ago)

"Ooh Child" by The Five Stairsteps - not obscure by many people's definition, but hardly ubiquitous. I defy anyone to not fall in love with it.

Fishbone's "Party at Ground Zero"

Okay, so it might be too energetic for some, but it's about the partyingest feelgoodest song EVAH.

Charlie Rich - Feel like going home

or Source Decay, by the Mountain Goats.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 9 December 2002 15:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Perfect Day - Lou Reed (the one with different famous people singing each line.)

The part where Bono sings "you just keep me hanging on"
and then Thomas Allen echos should make anyone love it.

A Nairn (moretap), Monday, 9 December 2002 15:55 (twenty-three years ago)

The "Agnus Dei" from Frank Martin's Mass for Double Chorus, particularly the recording of New College Choir doing it.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 9 December 2002 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

"Triumph of Death" by Hellhammer

If you can get mr. Thomas Fisher to love this I'd be happy enough. For whatever reason, he really, really hates the old stuff!

Siegbran (eofor), Tuesday, 10 December 2002 01:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Blue Man Group - "Rods and Cones".. it's even better when you realize that none of it's synthesized, and yet they can make the most amazing sounds and the timing is so dead-on

Curtis Stephens, Tuesday, 10 December 2002 02:04 (twenty-three years ago)

LOVE.R2P
ROBOT.R2P
PAFT.R2P
BEATS.R2P
KNIFE.R2P
MATERIAL.R2P
DUNK.R2P

They're all on this 64Mb smartmedia card that's stuck in my RS7000. I don't know how they got there, honest.

Also, Nate's answer = ILM's version of Mr. Show quotes.

Tom Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 10 December 2002 03:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Nothing's that bad.

Anyway, fuck all that noise, the answer is The New Pornographers' "The Body Say No".

Supreme NTM - 'Nique le Police'

Hilarious French gangsta classic. NWA, Wu-Tang, BDP, Edith Piaf & turntablism all rolled into one big ball of FUN.

Keith McD (Keith McD), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 01:32 (twenty-three years ago)

actually that should be:
Supreme NTM & Cut Killer - 'Nique la Police'

Keith McD (Keith McD), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 01:35 (twenty-three years ago)

everyone does love volare but! i wish it could replace 'that's amore'

minna (minna), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 01:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I mean, one day, I'd love to start a thread about "Volare", because it may be the finest song ever. The Dean Martin version is good, no doubt about it, it's even great. But, the first time you hear the Modugno version... it starts off by creeping, and ends up so overly-joyous you want to hug everyone you see for the next four hours.

This is a badly constructed post.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Wednesday, 11 December 2002 02:58 (twenty-three years ago)
