Anybody know if Fiction Tales has ever been released on CD?

Yeah or nay, somebody needs to reissue this pronto? Maybe LTM...

It hasn't. It has come up here on couple of earlier "Overdue for Re-issue" threads, which is where I first heard of it. I've downloaded all but one song, "Real Hymn", and I can see why it's so esteemed.

one year passes...
Revive to link to a page I found some years back:

No new news about a reissue anywhere, it seems. Joe McKechnie has posted here a couple of times on that great Passage thread, we should encourage him. :-)

Still the great lost band, I guess.

I revive partially because a band I know wants to cover "Euthenics" but isn't sure about the lyrics -- these are from the fansite but are admittedly supposed to be rough. Does anyone have a better guess?

Kramer, the ShimmyDisc producer recommended them somewhere, and after i heard them, they might be described as the Galaxie 500 of the new wave.
they are nice, but galaxie are better, though never really were my cup of tea,and New wave was never a good thing for me.
And Bands like I love you but ive chosen darkness that are re-creating the genre are not really good for my health.

Little Hits blog posted one of their tracks.

I have a bunch of their stuff digitised by a friend, but I never really got that into it.

Yeah it's good, but I was never really into it all that much either. I think I still have Fiction Tales on tape somewhere.

And the air hangs heavy like a dulling wine (Bimble...), Saturday, 11 March 2006 17:47 (twenty years ago)

I have had about three songs on tape since about 96/97 - this def. needs to be reissued!

Liked the post on Little Hits about Comsat Angels' Fiction as well, I was listening to that yesterday and marvelling at how pretty it sounds, especially "Pictures".

I'm holding off on a relisten of the Comsats until I get the new reissues. A kind of discipline. ;-)

I checked out the Little Hits blog for some Modern Eon and ended up loving that Plugz track instead. Achin' is a classic.

Haha yeah that's right! Remember the Comsats whoop their arse every time.

It's a hideous trait on her mother's side but my faith in love it stil devo (Bim, Sunday, 12 March 2006 02:10 (twenty years ago)
