family vs. some strange fruit and donna matthews post-elastica

so, i've got a teeny dilemma i'd like help with; do i or do i not go to the strange fruit nights on the 20th and 21st which look fab [and i'm curious about seeing kenickie members in The Pictures and then Donna Matthews in Klang.. wowee. stories to tell grandkids. sorta.] OR.. do i go home to bristol so i make it in time to see an aunt who can't even spell my name correctly on those christmas cards she infrequently sends.
i'm being emotionally blackmailed by my family, you see. i'm not into cold glances across the glazed ham and overcooked turkey.

so yes - help! or in fact provide me with better excuses to stay in london?

i was in london last year & i went to alan mcgee's "radio 4" night. donna was there all alone, rocking out in a world of her own. during "teenage kicks" she danced her way next to me. not like she was drawn to me or anything, it was just getting crowded (but i'll believe what i want to believe). anyway, i fuckin loved dancing with her. we were grinning like mad and she had on a great Joy Division shirt. mew from elastica was also there.... donna and her definitely saw one another but said NOTHING!

well it's just Emmy Kate from Rosita and a couple of others, Marie's quit making music apparently. According to the Rosita board, they're "more synthy"..

hmm. the spitz' site has them down as being fronted by 'Emma Jackson of Kenickie'.

marie was handing out the hall or nothing press passes at reading so i assume she's just doing pr now.

Correct; Marie is a press officer. The members of Kenickie all appear to be friends still (Lauren was at Pulp).

at auto? i didnt see her. the two camps hated each other for ages. from what i was aware nothing had changed.. lauren and her brother in one and marie/emma in the other. not that i know them or anything.
