triangle man represents Christianity
particle man represents science
person man represents agnosticism/atheism/skepticism

In the interpretation nick's talking about Universe Man would be God. I have never heard or read anything where Linnell admits what the song is about, though nick's interp is a commonly accepted one among, er, TMBG scholars.
